General Practice Assessment Questionnaire (GPAQ)
GPAQ is a highly trusted patient feedback tool with a similar purpose to the
IPQ. It was developed by the National Primary Research and Development Centre in
Manchester to gain patient feedback on the quality of care provided by the
practice and its staff. CFEP became an
approved GPAQ provider in 2005.
GPAQ can be used at Practice Level and Individual GP level.
GPAQ is fully administered for you as a minimally disruptive exit survey. It
has questions which focus on issues about the practice, the clinician and staff.
There are also fields allowing patients to write comments about the services and
care that they received.
We send all the survey material to practices. When you wish to run the survey, a
receptionist simply hands the questionnaire to consecutive patients and asks
them to complete it and put it into the ballot box provided. You then return the
questionnaires to us for analysis.
We also offer a data analysis service if you wish to print and distribute the
questionnaires yourselves.
Practice results include all written comments, summary tables (with
demographics) and graphs - including benchmark scores derived from other
practices. You also receive complementary support materials and help in
completing PE6.
Doctors get patient feedback on their interpersonal skills, together with
benchmarks scores from other doctors.
